Bought my 08 Cayman S in february. Took it to new jersey motor vehicle inspection.
They gave me an inspection sticker that exires in february of 2013.
I thought inspection was good for 2 years?

Check out the above link. Specifically the section about 5 year inspection extended to used vehicles.
Seems like your 08 fits the description.

I thought about that might be the case because I bought my 2008 M3 new and originally it had a 2012 inspection sticker and with the one year extension it bring it to 2013.
I guess any 2008 vehicle must be inspected in 2013 regardless of whether it was inspected before that due to a sale.

NJ inspection has become a joke, all they check are emissions, you can pull in with bald tires, no brakes, lights not working but if you get by emissions your all set.

When I had to take my old 911 for inspection last summer, they rejected it because there was a tint in the windows. It was a very light greenish tint that added beauty to my '86 white Carrera. I had to pay $25 to get them removed, and when I took it back for inspection, they didn't even bother checking! CO inspection did not bother about the tint at all. Wonder why the rules are more strict here..
