Is SpeedWerks of Thomasville, NC still around?
I tried calling the number on the website: http://www.speedwerksllc.com/contact.htm but couldn't get through. Does anyone know if they are still there and if there is another number to call?

Sorry to hear that. I had heard good things and like the idea they supported a race shop as well.
I needed an alternator replace and ended up taking to the dealer in Greensboro. They actually sent it out to a shop local and had it rebuilt for what I thought was pretty reasonable.
Do you have any recommendations for future service work?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I actually called FCI and inquired about estimate for replacing alternator which I felt was going bad. They told me the cost of a new one, and then said they would send mine out to a local shop for a rebuild. That turned out to be very reasonable so I went that route. All went well and car is now running great.
The first failure was on my son's 2001 Midnight Blue TT which he has for sale since he has taken a job in NYC. I in turn had the exact failure on my 2001 TT so I decided to tackle the job myself. Removal and install went pretty easy and I used the same shop that FCI did for the rebuild. Once again that took care of the problems and all is now well. The shop did a nice job and made my old alternator look like new including new pulley.
Thanks for the suggestions on shops as I'm sure I will have some future needs.
