Default Good Porsche Independent in NJ?

Looking for a good independent Porsche shop/mechanic in NJ area, preferably Northern New Jersey. Maintenance, alignment, etc

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Morris County and surrounding have some really good shops. 5-10 years ago when I was in NJ, I used PowerTech in Rockaway. Heard good things about Precision motorsport down near Califon, NJ. Friends used to use both Europerf in Garfield and Protosport as well (pomton plains?). Autohaus in Chatham comes to mind as well. There was another place that used to hold the occasional NNJR DE tech in Sterling as well. Might check out the NNJR PCA website for some of their sponsors/supporters as well.

Chris Palumbo in Millburn. Porsche specialist since years and a racer too. I had both of my cars in his care and he made things happen.

back when I used them they were great. Eventually though, i got tired of paying shop rates in general and learned to do more things by myself. Having not been in the area for nearly 5 years, I can't speak to their current service levels, but assume it to still be above average.

Although I don't know how you plan to use your car (the Cayman in the pic?) but you only need an alignment maybe once a year and oil change intervals are quite far on the newer cars. you might simply want to learn to tackle some of these items yourself. They aren't really hard on the new cars.

I've been using Euro Perf in Garfield. They also own Stable Energies. I like Bob, think he's a straight up guy and have been satisfied with his work. However I welcome feedback (good or bad) in comparing them to Protosport which I've only heard good things as well.

I have heard good things about all the shops mentioned!

I have used ROCS Auto, Inc in Belleville, NJ for the last roughly 9 years...first with my old NA beater and for the last 4 with my S2.

Good, honest shop with reasonable rates. Both Rich (owner) and his partner Victor are 944 owners....and Rich has an extensive track history with PCA and EMRA.

They service P-cars, Rolls Royce, BMW and a few other unusual european cars....they are a Brembo dealer and also a Pirelli dealer.

Until I started doing my own work recently, I always had my 928 serviced at Shade Tree Garage in Morristown. They will work on pretty much anything and have lots of experience with Porsches and other high end cars .

I've gone to them for about 15 years without any complaints.

Another vote for Chris Palumbo in Millburn. Easy walk to the train station if you need to get into Manhattan too.

Does Protosport allow you to bring your own parts or do you have to buy them through the shop?

If not, which of these independents allow you to bring parts that you've bought elsewhere?

I always had my own parts which Chris Palumbo installed for me. No problem. Most of the time I got the stuff directly shipped to his shop.
