Essex Sports Cars location

I remember when Lake Underwood's Porsche dealership, Essex Sports Cars, was on Millburn Avenue in Maplewood. Driving through nearby Valley Street I noticed this faded signage-jeez, when were Borgwards last sold in the US? I'm guessing this was a prior location for Essex Sports Cars??
