Default Looking for scratch repair in the N. NJ area

A friend of mine managed to put a nice scratch along the side of my baby when getting his bag out after a ride to the airport (he lost his balance...)

The scratch is about 3" long, not particularly deep but can be felt.

It is possible that it can be buffed out so the first question is - is this something that I can try myself and, if so, am I at risk of making things worse?

Assuming the above does not work - does anyone know of someone who can do a quality job for a reasonable amount of money - preferably in or around the Bergen Co., NJ area?

Many thanks!

Barry

Barry,
It's very difficult to buff out something like this with rubbing or polishing compound especially on a dark colored car. I would call Jack Daniels and get a recommendation from them. There are a few body shops in Begen Co that specialize in high end cars. I had a friend that wrecked his new Jag and the job this one shop did was amazing, I don't remember the name of that shop.
