Tri-State members: where/how do you park you manual in Manhattan?
I always use another car when driving to the city. Scared parking attendants will mishandle my manual Boxster 25.

No experience with a 718, but I've never had issues with valet garages in Manhattan and manual transmission.
I had ONE bad experience at a hotel garage in Flushing. The guy clearly didn't know what he was doing and I just kept hearing my car revving. Then he got mad I didn't tip him, wtf. Never went back there again.

I take my daily into the City. Back when my daily was a manual (miss those days) then I used to park it anywhere. Occasionally the parking attendant needed to call for backup who could drive stick. But the older guys never had a problem.
