NJ to Rennsport Dragon Rally (June)
A buddy (2011 Audi R8) and I just registered for the Rennsport Dragon Rally in June (June 10-12). We will be driving down (not trailering) on June 9. Anyone else registered from the NJ area?

Basically, a guided tour of all the best roads in the Smokeys. Probably a bit a ****show with the number of cars, but I decided that the first trip I'll take the assistance in hitting these roads in the right direction, at the right time, and with a local leading. Looking forward to the social aspects, as well. It's about 10-11 hours for me. We are going to split the drive up into two days on the way home (Monday) as we may be a little fried from the weekend.

There are normally six run groups in June. Groups one and two are the white knuckle group. Groups 3-5 are what I drive in and are very spirited. I can not imagine driving that aggressive all day long in group one and two. Group six is basically a sight seeing group. You do not have to stay in the same run group for the weekend. Josh normally does not put new people in the first two groups.

most important is a Radio and Download offline maps on your phone because there is No signal in the mtns.
Whats good is that you have a leader and a sweeper so you don't get lost.. if you have car trouble or assistance you can hit someone up on the radio

Porsche noob here. Just finding the regional threads, doh. There are a LOT of fine roads between NY/NJ/PA and the Tail. I recommend looking into the Back of the Dragon, for starters. I came up from the Tail last year, did the Back on my way north, made it home for dinner (SE PA). I did leave early in the morning!
