I take that back… saw the forecast and it will depend on whether the weather passes through before 7-8am tomorrow. Im not willingly going to drive and stand in the rain tomorrow. Hoping or the best.

Edit: Seller has notified me the hardtop has sold.
Crossposting here in the East US Region forum as I made a gross geographical error (typical Canadian!)
Looking to see if any Pittsburgh-based members can help me out with a Rennfax to check out a 986 Boxster hardtop before I make the trek down to find out it's a dud. If you think you can help a fellow Rennlist member out, I will forever be grateful! Please send me a private message. Thank you!

I created a new thread in the General Porsche discussion forum and cross-posting here to see if the brain trust has any info on how to determine where and when roads in PA are chip-sealed (aka tar & chip, oil & chip, oil & cinders, etc).
Chipseal…Tar & Chipped roads: is there a guide?I live in W PA. Local townships practice the barbaric ritual of “chip-sealing” many of our roads. Also known as “tar and chipped”. Sometimes referred to as “oil and chips / cinders”. There may be other names.
When it’s freshly laid, it can stick to and ruin a set of tires, not to mention wreak havoc on paint.
Does anyone know of a road-guide or an app that maps out roads that have been, or will be “chipped”? Over the past two days we had to turn around multiple times to avoid freshly laid tar/oil/chips.
Once a couple weeks pass (on a well-traveled road), at least it tends to be “pounded” or “tamped” into the surface. But when it’s fresh, it’s brutal.
I called one of the paving companies and was told they were not aware of any info that is posted, or maps provided, or apps that cover this question. I’ve searched multiple times and found nothing. I even tried some motorcycle forums thinking they might be a resource since it’s very dangerous for bikers.
I was told by the paving company that I’d have to contact every township supervisor and ask them to share the info with me (and I dont’ know if they would but I’m prepared to do it if needed). Since I don’t know in advance all the townships we might cover in a ride in the “country”, I’ll have to blanket the entire area, or limit our drives to townships that provide the info.
It’s really frustrating.
