I'm planning to prep my car for 2024, starting with an aggressive street/track alignment/corner balance, using stock internals (no shims, plates, rods), along with 200 CELL Header installation (arriving in Feb.)
A local PCA member gave high recommendations to Dougherty Automotive Services in West Chester for alignments, and it seems like the header install would also be up their alley.

Does anyone else have experience with local Indy Shops that can handle both alignment, and exhaust work that they trust around the Philly Metro area; preferably in Montco or Bucks Co. Dougherty might be my best bet but I want to keep my options open... especially when it comes to price, without sacrificing quality of service. Part of me want to ask John @ SOUL, but these arent his headers, so Im not sure if I'd be rubbing him the wrong way with an installation request.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or feedback.

Don't know where you're located exactly Mike but RT Tuning over in Montgomeryville does a bang up job on aligning these cars. I'd give them a shout in a heartbeat and I've been there plenty myself in the past for alignments so can vouch personally. Header install would be no issue as well, they're a 'tuning' shop.

I had my S2000 aligned by them back in the day, and I always recommend them to others... didnt know that could handle Porsche Specs, so this is good to know.
Im just outside of Center City in Manayunk.

Heck yea! Three time AP2 owner here. I've pretty much had all my 'sporty' cars aligned by them in the past including plenty of Porsches. They get a fair number of Porsche/higher end cars through the shop so it's not just 'tuner' type cars. That would be my recommendation locally without a doubt.

You'd be hard pressed to rub me the wrong way and that's certainly not one of them haha. That said, I'm limiting pulling anyone off the bench for installs to concentrate on production. You are are in Really good hands with the Dougherty team so I'd proceed with confidence. You also have the guys at Performance Automotive, and if you want dealer support Ernesto at Conshohocken and Sam at Warrington as fantastic to work with. Also, just buy our heders next time you won't feel so bad reaching out haha

John Gaydos

Dougherty Automotive Services is a great choice. They also host a number of our tech inspections for PCA RTR track days. I also have used Performance Automotive in Malvern quite a bit for all sorts of work on a number of different Porsches and can highly recommend them as well.

Any suggestions on pre-purchasing hardware for the header install, where/what to buy (from SOUL?), such as a new bolt set?
My buddy who just bought a new to him 09' 997.2 will be reaching out to you in the upcoming weeks to discuss exhaust options

Ernesto @ Conshy is my go to guy for dealer service, but even he looked at me cross-eyed when I asked him about the header install - in the manner which needed no explanation, as he didnt even want to go down the road with what the cost would be $$$$ "go to an Indy".

I've used Mainline Motorsports for a few things on my 911. Pretty extensive installation of intercoolers, intake, hoses, third radiator, etc. that was very quick and perfect work.
I would definitely recommend him. He's literally a one-man show. Turnaround time is quicker than I thought.

Sure, pop me an email at johng@soulpp.com and I'll send you the hardware specs we use. Pass along my info to your 997.2 buddy as well, happy to chat with him : ) Ernesto is a good friend and local resource, he is getting up to speed quickly and I'm sure would be happy to have the install business moving forwards though he usually likes the parts coming from the dealer and not customer supplied. Easier to manage warranty stuff from there.

John Gaydos

I’ll be looking into other group events in due time. I kept giving myself excuses last year, and I wanted to make sure I got my first track day event out of the way. Hopefully to clear a path to many more in the near future. It also helped that my buddy who just picked up a 997.2 is tagging along.

All I need to do is scoop a helmet, and flush my brake fluid, and Im good to go or the season. Recently got my car aligned for aggressive street/track - I should have had this done in the first month of ownership… what a game changer!
