I'm looking for a PPI in the Baltimore area (preferable North Baltimore) for a 996 C2 manual.
Any input on the shops above? Anywhere else I should call?
- TPC said they don't do PPIs
- SSI sounded promising for a couple hour inspection.
- GT Performance quote was higher, but seemed like it was going to be very thorough.

I ended up using GT Performance, and was very happy with the service. Inspection was very thorough and included a leakdown/compression test, bore scoping (with digital video files sent to me, and more. The owner really put the buyer at the forefront, and spent a good deal of time working with me after the PPI was done.
I recommend them for anyone looking for a PPI in the future.

Ellicott City here, and new owner of a 2014 Panamera 4S. Needed four doors per my wife’s declaration. Anyway looking forward to maximizing the ownership experience, so I figured this was a good first step.
Moved on from a 2009 BMW 335i. I liked that car a lot. It was my first major “grown adult” purchase, so I miss her. But the Porsche is taking the sting out of that more and more each day.

Agreed on GT Performance. I used them when I lived in Baltimore and was really happy with their knowledge and work. I've moved out to Ellicott City so now it's a bit of a hike to go there. I'll take a look at some of the other shops recommended here. Although I'm a moderate DIY'er, I have a 60k service due and don't want to tackle the spark plugs and coil packs myself since I've read it's tight space.
I have an 2005 911 Carrera cab.

Hey Marylanders,
Just an update, Ralphs Auto Service has moved to a new location in Hampstead MD. Its about 15 minutes from the old shop in Owings Mills. The new facility is HUGE! Chuck mentioned about 23,000 sqft. The whole place feels very high end, lots of glass in the offices and tons of space to work for the techs. I think they are just wrapping up final construction now. They have been working on my car for years and its amazing to see them grow into the new shop. If you are in the area stop by and check it out. Chuck loves giving tours! Hopefully he'll host some events in the spring time.

Hi all, I just moved into the area (technically on the DC side of the MD border) but close enough. Looking forward to getting to know the locals and getting back to the track. I brought my 2010 Cayman S car back with me from the UK, the wife is in a Macan GTS, and my Spyder is on the way...wasn't easy finding a three car garage near the city! I tend to do a lot of my own work so if anyone needs a hand with a wrench in the local area drop me a message.
