I'm not seeing the text that was associated with these photos, so I'll post it in this reply. My apologies if I'm screwing this up somehow.
"I recently acquired several awards given to Mike Amalfitano at the 2001 Rennsport Reunion event, held at Lime Rock. One of them appears to be a cylinder head/sleeve casting (962?) mounted on an acrylic base. There is a hole burned in the cylinder wall that becomes a crack leading to the skirt of the cylinder. It's covered with grease and grime, and the exhaust port is coated with carbon, so it appears to be out of an engine that had raced. I'm curious whether there is a story behind this award. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be grateful to hear them. (I've attached a couple of photos)"
