987 front bumper removal
Here is the step by step instruction on removing the front bumper off a 987.1 Boxster. You may want to do this to help clear out accumulating debris (they rot) from your front radiators or installing accessories.
My car is a 2008 Boxster S, but should be applicable to all 2005 - 2008 S and non-S models (including Caymans). I would not be surprised if this also applies to 987.2, though I make no guarantee. Having done this a few times, the entire removal takes me about 15 minutes. So, it’s really simple. YMMY.
PDF download available at end of post.
Tools required:
*I've removed the inline steps... so, just refer to the PDF download link at bottom of this post for instructions.
Also, make sure the connectors for side marker, fog light plug & washer hose don’ get tangled up as you push the bumper back in.
Have fun!

Tools required:
- Jack & jack stands
- Torx bits - I don’t know the exact sizes, but you should do fine if you have a torx bit set.
- Piece of string

Looks like a great guide and I'm just about to do this myself to replace the aircon rads on my 987 - the pics and pdf links aren't working anymore, any chance you could repost them? Apologies for resurrecting a 5 yr old thread!

Hi,
I'm about to tackle this myself. I found some guides on the 986 but there seems to be some differences with the 987? Doe anyone have the PDF saved in the original post or a link to another how to? Some posts I've read you need to remove the front headlights and some you dont?

987 Bumper Remove
Lithium, thank you so much "dammit Jim I'm a sales rep not a mechanic". Had to replace the secondary actuator front hood latch (2005 987)
which required removing front bumper. More than I have ever atempted and thanks to your PDFs the fix went extremely well. Even changed oil myself today!
