Was there a reason to leave the seat bottoms in place ?? I am thinking about pulling the seat bottoms out and just having a carpeted area or installing some sort of tray as the base instead of the seat.
good article - thanks

Gus ^^ You could ask RLer Howdy993:
5.5 years later, Howard's still posting on RL.
No worries, Howard ^^
A RLer brought it to my attention that images #9 & 10 currently aren't loading.
I dusted off my computer & found them to re-upload:

Once all the bolts have been removed, you will need to carefully cut the carpeting and fill padding to remove the Rear Seat frame.
In the front section there is a large amount of foam that is attached to the metal frame yoke.
Separate this foam from the frame carefully, then remove the frame.

RSD
Hello All
When I first did this, it had to be posted to the DIY Submission Forum. Then a moderator(?) moved it to the DIY Forum. This is when the photos disappeared. It was easier to email folks the document than spend an afternoon uploading the pictures again.
Glad to see curvelover has done the legwork to put it all back together.
Best wishes, Howard

I suffer with tinnitus and so have to attempt to reduce the low frequency noise - mostly idle drone in the 993. A custom RSD made from ply with a layer of MDF if sealed well to the body and with no doors would block quite a bit of low frequency noise due to the reasonable air volume.
