Is this procedure for a 991.2 or a 991.1. Are both the same procedure?

Has anyone tried to replace the 911 plastic screws that are so difficult to work with (Need quarter) with a different type of plastic screw, such as the ones for the Porsche Macan cabin filter? These are removed by hand by just grasping the tab. Similar to a thumb screw:

If it fits or a similar hand screw replacement is known, it would make this task much easier.

If these screw work, it would be a godsend.

I am fat and out of shape but didn’t find it particularly difficult to change out the under dash filter recently. It’s all a matter of finding the right angle for your torso and arm and holding the stubby flathead screwdriver perfectly perpendicular to the plastic screws. 5 minute job. Absolutely no need to pay anyone else to do it.

A one-Euro coin may work better than a US quarter. But a quarter works fine in my experience.

The inside filter requires yoga moves, but it is good practice! Just have Aleve handy!

I tested the Macan thumbscrew in the 911 & YES, it fits!
2016 Porsche Macan Turbo plastic screw fits 2019 911 Carrera S .

This is the P/N:
Part Number: WHT000155
Supersession(s): WHT-000-155
Fits Macan (2015 - 2023)

Porsche sells for $4+ to $6+ each, LOL.
eBay even more.

Macan plastic screw, fits 911

I may bring one into ACE hardware to see if they have a plastic thumbscrew that matches.
I find it very difficult to screw/unscrew the 911 3rd screw that is far under the dash. Even using a nickel or penny. Worse using a stubby screwdriver.

Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas had them for $3.92, plus shipping. As usual the PAT makes everything for our cars stupid expensive, but having fought with this once, this will be money well spent for future filter changes.

I did find an image showing the other side. Not only does it have the raised ridge such that it can be finger tightened, but there is what looks like a slot so one could use a stubby w/o needing to worry about angle.
