Can i use the Aim Solo not DL version with smarty cam?
i bought the regular version, not the DL version earlier this year kuz i didnt think i needed it.
im getting a smarty cam soon, do i need the DL version to overlay the data?
i have a motec CDL3 dash on the car but i know nothing about it.
im only using it for rpm and shift lifts and using the aim solo for lap info.
at this point i just want video and lap time data overlay so i can study with the smarty cam.
so do i need to upgrade to the DL, or does my motec already have it or do i need supporting software and parts to be used with the smartycam?
im not tech savvy and really need the most easiest setup possible because not only am i not tech savvy, im really lazy.

You need an ecu bridge and the camera. Jerry (Amso3) has done a ton of these. Peter has probably done some as well.
No need to buy the DL.

You have 2 options, keep the SOLO and add an ECU bridge to get data to the SC. Option 2 is to replace the SOLO with a DL and run the camera off that. The ECU bridge lists for $249, the DL lists for $699. Option 1 also requires a GPS antenna if you don't have one ($149), option 2 does not need GPS antenna

Sell the Solo, buy a DL.
The DL, with a power and ground connection, will auto start and stop, give you lap times, record information and send speed, track position and lap timing info to the SmartyCam. Completely automated.
Ive got good used combinations of Solo DL's and first gen SmartyCams with mounts for $1080 shipped for all. Give you $200 for your Solo against that kit.
