SmartyCam HD thinks it is the year 2000?!
My SmartyCam HD thinks it is either March 5, 2000, or May 3, 2000 - I'm never sure how that thing is displaying the date. I don't see any way to update the date on it, all I can do is change the +-GMT time.
I'm also having trouble getting SmartyManager 2 to run on my Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 let alone getting it to talk to the SmartyCam for any length of time.
I've had the SmartyCam HD for several years, I think I must have bought one of the last ones before they updated them.
I am running a MXS using a GPS08 module, if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any insight
John

This has been an issue since Rev1 several years ago. If the battery totally dies from sitting up or old age, the internal clock quits and the date you're seeing is a default when powered up. Then, when a logger (or the antenna) sends a current GPS derived time and date, it corrects itself. But see what Tyler says.

I figured it was a dead battery issue - the date looked like one off those default dates. I ran for an hour and a half (until I had the oil pressure failure) and it never reset the date. Three separate sessions, so the unit was cycled off and on a few times. The internal battery is now showing fully charged.
Thanks!

Tyler helped me get it sorted out. Turns out the firmware in the SmartyCam doesn't recognize the new GPS08 sensor yet. AIM is working on an update to the firmware to resolve this.
The easiest solution was to hook up my old GPS05 sensor and let it run for a bit. It took several minutes, but eventually the SmartyCam picked up the correct date and time. The SmartyCam should be good to go moving forward, so long as I don't let the battery go down which shouldn't be a problem now that it is track season again.
I re-connected the GPS08 and everything is working.
Thanks for the help!
