Default 944 Front Wheel Speed sensor

Apologizes if this has been cover previously, I wasn't able to find it.

Does anyone have a easy and/or clean solution for picking up front wheel speeds of a 944/968? Tapping the ABS sensors is tempting, but I don't want to impact the functioning of the brakes in any way.

Thanks,
Greg

Pin 17 off the ABS computer should supply you with a speedo signal. Don't tap the sensor itself.

Thanks. But I'm looking for individual wheel speed sensors. Do you know if that is a particular wheel?

I have the GPS speed and one rear wheel speed sensor, but the fronts are a little harder to install a sensor.

I'll dig a little deeper into the ABS pin outs!

I appreciate your help!

You should be able to do something like this at the front. This is off my 914 (911 is the same), but the hubs are similar. We made a little bracket to go from the brake shield mount hole to hold the sensor so it could trigger off the wheel stud heads. The rear is harder to do, but you can put a ring on the CV joints or rig up some other way.

I can help you out with the sensors if you need to buy them.

Thanks Matt!

I never thought about using the heads of the wheel studs. Great idea.

We have one rear wheel speed sensor. With the CVs it was a little more obvious how to pick up wheel speed.

Thanks,
Greg
