Default Adding external mic to SmartyCam HD

I have the Aim cable with pig tail for an external mic. My mic is an Olympus ME51S with 3.5 stereo jack. This fits but does no snap into the female of the AiM cable. Do I need an adapter?

Bill, it should "click in"

Try some earbuds from a phone and if they do the same thing, I'll send another.

It should feel the same as headphones of a mic into you phone or any female jack.

Does it hold tight or fall out?

Convinced that it should fit, I added a little more "Brute" force and it clicked in. Thanks.
