Default Interesting future data point

Just stumbled across a video on YouTube where they track the eye movement of a F1 driver.

I'm sure that technology will be out of reach for a while, but I think that would be pretty helpful for coaches of new drivers.

And well experienced ones, too!

Right now, you can assemble a clunky DIY system but the commercial one starts at around $7500. I'm certainly interested for my work...

There are some companies that have been doing this for a number of years. It's a neat technology that goes with some of the ither driver biometrics.

I found it interesting how much time he spent looking at the curbing as he was approaching apex. Vision was not as far forward as we would like to think.

No, I found his eyes to be more mobile and moving than most. He said that he focused on the apex for a longer time to make sure he got there!

I think as much as everyone likes to say they are looking ahead - your sub conscious is staring the hell out of every inch on the track, while your active mind looks into the future.

Carry a cup of coffee. You can navigate getting back to your desk without bumping into anything or tripping (maybe not) - high level vision that is active mind. If you take your eyes off that cup I promise you that you'll spill it though.

Now where is that video with the girl in the stands lifting up her shirt just before a major shunt.
