Dash logger internal accelerometers rate gyros

Dash logger internal accelerometers rate gyros
I figured this would be best as a separate topic. I bounced this off Roger at AIM but had a more general question to the different brands.
my FSAE team is looking at the AIM MXL2 and the Motec C125 and C185 units. They all have built in accelerometers and the AIM has a yaw gyro.
Since it is unlikely that a dash logger is going to be placed exactly at the CG of the car, how does one deal with the sensors being off axis or away from the CG with the acceleration data? Roger made it seem like the best way was to calibrate the system via the math channels. Is that true for both brands, or does Motec have a different(better) way of calibrating it?
The acceleration data as well as the yaw rate info is going to be really important for us to see slip angles and such. We could install outboard units but I would rather not if we don't have to because of costs.
I imagine the problem is even more amplified in a full sized car as the dash logger is not even placed along the longitudinal axis.
Is this not as big of a problem as I am thinking it would be?
Thanks!

It's not as big a problem as you are thinking it will be.
