Acquiring Sensors/Assigning Channels EVO4-G-DASH ?!
Hello peeps,
could one of you AIM gurus please oh please just give me a cliff notes version of how to acquire /assign new sensors/channels to each port? This is driving me friggin nuts. Neither the EVO4 manual or the GDASH manual describe this. Am i looking in wrong place.
I have two channel expanders hooked together (serial) into the EVO4 EXP port.
I am trying to acquire new sensors/signals from an LCU1, Gear Box temp probe, engine oil pressure and engine oil temp probe.
Thanks Frank jeez

I'm on the way to the track and on my phone, so no pictures. Sorry. Go into Race Studio 2 (not Analysis) and select device configuration, then Evo 4. When hooked up to your car, select receive confifuration. This will import your current config. Then you will have to go to the CAN tab and add the channel expansion and LCU1. There will be more options under those for the sensors and how to configure the LCU1.

Frank,
In order to make work what Matt has suggested, first make sure you have everything connected correctly to the EVO4.
The LCU Ones, camera and G-Dash go into the Data Hub (5-pin, carries power and information to and from AiM CAN accessories)
The analog channel sensors (gearbox and engine oil temp, as well as engine oil pressure, throttle position and brake pressure) get plugged into the Channel Expansions (4-pin, for analog sensors only)
The Channel Expansions get plugged into the Data Hub(s).
So, tell me the complete roster of what you have and we can tell you what to connect to what.
Assuming you have everything connected correctly, suck down the configuration that is in your logger (EVO4) now and then, WITH POWER ON FOR THE LCU ONES and the POWER UP ON THE SYSTEM, go to the CAN tab and ADD the Channel Expansions and the LCU Ones by "obtain connected module serial number." Name your channels and then hit Transmit and you're done!

Thanks Matt and Peter.. that should do it...
unfortunately, I did not even get far enough along at the track today as my brand new, short-geared G50 gearbox was jumping out of every gear tested on. throttle application... unfriggin believable.. back to drawing board.
