Shift light and water temp light not working ?
2005 996 cup has an AIM MXL Pista...does that dash replace or cancel out the stock indicators ? I have not seen the orange shift light come on and I got up to 250 water temp in the pits and did not see any lamp come on in the center console either.

It depends on the install. If they disconnected the factory sensors and/or replaced them, then they wouldn't work. You will have to check out the installation.

Brant, super unlikely they would have disconnected or removed the water temp light. On the 996 Cup, the MXL config should get that info separate from the ECU and the alarm wold be set at the dash.
Same with the shift lights. The dash gets RPM feed from this model car through the same place that water temp comes from, two wires for all that info.
I would do a little digging, but the first thing is to connect to the dash, power it up, open up you computer and start Race Studio 2, go to Device Configuration, select MXL, then "Go to." At the top of the next page, select "Receive" and then click on the "system Configuration" tab at the top middle of the page and you should see something like the screen shot below. Make sure the shift lights are set up and that the alarms are set up. This particular config is for an old car that didn't have GPS, was a 4-cylinder with a redline of 6700 and had only wheel speed:

Thanks, I have the shift lights and warning lamps set on the AIM dash, working perfectly...Just do not have the yellowish stock shift light or the water temp lamp on the center console lighting up. Shift light used to light up when I first raced the car I think...

Do what Peter said and post a screen shot of the configuration and channels pages. That will tell us how it's set up and we should be able to give you some more specific places to look.

The shift light is set with Modas. Not sure how your warning lights are set up. But Modas is used for that as well.
I have a very lightly used Modas MSA II box if you'd like to buy it, $800 shipped.
