Why is my ECU channel 15 (gear selection) grayed out?

Update - I have shared my dash configuration with AiM and they don't see any reason why the gear selected is not displayed.
They are looking at the data now and will be advising today.
After that if necessary they ask the folks in Italy.
I'll be at the track Monday- Thursday this coming week and may have to reacquaint myself with the calculated gear procedure.
Funny thing is I can't say I really need the gear displayed or read all that much. I just don't like things that don't work.
More later.

Who else did you query? California? Josh? Robbie? Keep us posted!

Nope. I had not been sweating it because that functionality will likely be eventually added to the protocol. Also, the PDK guys don't need to know!

I have a several years old MXL Pista dash that had this capability last year and supposedly have it this year but am not able to display it. We had a rock solid gear selected indication showing on the dash last season (either that or I am even more delusional than Joanie thinks I am).
Or do you mean something else?

Cameron reviewed both the configuration and data yesterday. Configuration is properly set up and yet no data showing on dash or in Race Studio.
Next question is whether the cars's gear sensor is at fault. I still have to work through that but probably won't know before on track Monday.
For now I'll change my gear selected source to calculated, transmit that configuration, then run gear calculation on the dash.
Kind of like the old days before my modern car.

Hi Frank
I believe only 2009 and later models can be read for the selected gear.
So you must have been using gear calculation.
Thanks for jumping in, though.

Curious, did this issue ever get resolved? I have been using calculated gear as never got ECU / SM Gear showing properly in my 2012 Cayman S.
Another quirk is I get Fuel Level to show on MXL Dash in .1 gallons from SM_FUEL_LEVEL but can't seem to feed to SCHD rev.2. When I try to enable Fuel Level in Smarty Cam Function Settings only options in drop down list are SM_PPS & SM_PEDAL_ANGLE, SM_ FUEL LEVEL is missing from the choices...

On the SC HD feed, not all channels come through. I must say, in six years of supplying this stuff, that is the first request for that information to be shown on the video background I have ever heard of!
In your SC Function settings, be sure to check the box in the lower left hand corner and if it is possible, then the additional channels will appear from the drop down menus.

Just a lazy way to create a permanent fuel usage/weight record for the data challenged. Also at end of some races my 2 gallon alarm has been on for multiple laps, thought would be interesting to see "running on fumes" in the video.
Maybe getting more capable with data without a coach clicking the keys s/b a New Years resolution...
Anyway clicking that box in lower left caused the options to show in drop down box as you suggested. I'll go test it in the video in car. Thanks!

Great. Let us know it worked.
Add a small text and value on the SC HD config to be able to see it.

Ok now I now can see fuel level in SCHD live measures. MXL is set to display in .1 gallons, but SCHD appears to be showing liters (13.2 on MXL, 50.0 on SCHD). Can't seem to find where to change the SCHD units to gallons... It must be there somewhere.
