Question Data/Timing System Rental

Anyone know of options to rent a data/timing system for a weekend? I'm a novice (5 days solo) but have a multi-day event coming up and would love to be able to review lap times and/or data after my sessions. Hesitant to buy (moving and unsure when I'll get back to the track after upcoming event) but would love to rent a Racebox, Garmin Catalyst, or other intro-level data/timing setup.

I'd let you rent a Solo 2 and mount. Where are you located?

Would be good to know the type of car, track and location. I have a Motec C125 system that is configured for a 718.

In my opinion, you should rent or borrow a basic system that relies on GPS without a connection to the car. Plenty of information like speed, track position, g's, sector timing (finding and focusing on what you did well, so you can do more of that), ideally with video.

The Garmin Catalyst is one of the easiest to use and incorprates video. All self-contained in the tablet, no laptop necessary. The Apex Pro using an iOS and Android app is very good, but you need to bring your phone along with you.

The next step is a big step up, IMO. Really simple would be a VBOX, since it is Mac OS and Windows compatible. You can also use it on an iPad. Simple templates guide you how to do better with what you have.

If you start with AiM or MoTeC, be prepared to spend time to learn how to get this information out of it, then figure out what to do with it. Worthwhile if you own it, less if you rent or borrow it, in my experience.

Track addict app for the phone. I'd use the pay version. I had trouble with the free one.
