Default GT3RS Aero at work

Got some active aero codes working on the RS. Reposting some early laps from @TRAKCAR at sebring. Super interesting to see how the car manages aero in anger.

Is that based on speed?

Here are two videos of the same lap. The second video has the rear camera view larger so it's easier to see the wing movement.

Seems that there is a model optimizing for usable grip and then acceleration.

Yeah.

There looks to be a high speed lateral loading component, too. When you're going fast through a heavy loaded corner (Bishops), it gives you all the help it can.

An intelligent model, because when you don't need/want it (under the aero threshold speed exiting T5 and down the subsequent straight), it trims the car out for better acceleration/vMax.

Then, it enables under heavy straightline braking, like an airbrake.

I got a chance to look closely at the aero components at VIR last week and it's a remarkable car. Every time you think they can't do better, they DO!
