VBOX HD Lite and AiM Sports Track Day Kit
#16
The VBox HD Lite seems like a great idea and value. For me, getting data out of it is paramount. Is there away to evaluate Circuit Tools 2 before buying the hardware? The download page (https://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/ind...pport/software) says product registration is needed to use the software.

The fellow I was working with in his 981 GTS had an HD2, so I didn't get a chance last Thursday. Have some testing later this week I think I can get up there for. Will try again.
Still impressed with the packaging and the ease of use of the software.
In this day and age of adding power and customizable options that make the software that much more complex to use, this interface is refreshing.

I got this quote from VBOX tech support when asking if it was worth upgrading my VBOX LIte or going with VBOX HD Lite:
"The HD Lite is a single camera datalogger in one enclosure. You would not be able to add a second camera, nor can this unit have a graphical overlay. It is a much simpler version of our VBOX Video HD2. More information can be found here. "
I am not sure what is meant by "nor can this unit have a graphical overlay". If it doesn't provide the graphic data that you display in Circuit tools, then it would not suit my needs. You might want to ask VBOX directly.
PS I decided to upgrade my VBOX lite.
@ProCoach might be able to help?

@ProCoach it seems as if there is stop sale / recall on the vbox HD lite, I assume you know what's happening but are you able to share any details?
They've paused sales until they can devise an answer to low voltage turning off the camera, instead of rebooting. When cranking, supply voltages often go less the 10.6V, which this device doesn't like. Works fine with a battery and wired directly to the battery. I've not had an issue, yet, but I haven't had it in any cars but my own. Everyone I want to try it on has an HD2!

Sure. Not a recall, as those in the field have not been called back, including mine.

Wow! Really liking the power in this tiny package. First ran with the cig lighter power only and then connected to the CAN after lunch. Thought it was a later car but is a 2001 996 C4 converted to a C2. So, only throttle pedal, engine speed and wheel speeds available, but still pretty darned good. Image quality seems as good as the HD2 and rendering can be done after the session with one click in CT2. Will post up tomorrow some of the results. Helped my guy pick up four seconds!
