Default Can Solo battery go bad?

For various reasons I never got around to using my old Solo DL this year until yesterday. I have an OBD connector and when I plugged it into the car and into the Solo the Solo would not turn on. I then brought the Solo inside and plugged it into the USB port on my computer and it started up. Questions:

1) Should the Solo have started in the car with only the OBD connection?
2) Are cameras that fit my old Solo back in stock?

Thanks to whichever expert can answer or otherwise help

Joe

Yes, the batteries can go bad. If it won't hold a charge, send it in and the replacement is really reasonably priced.

Do you have a Solo 2 DL or the og Solo DL? I have SC3 Sport in stock.

Mine is an OG. Does the new camera work with my old Solo?

Thanks

Joe, the power should be present at the OBDII port. First, charge it up using a USB power brick and then see if it’ll start on its own. Then, troubleshoot the power feed at either the OBDII port or the cable is bad (sometimes the wires pull loose from the contacts inside the plastic plug).

Matt seems to think the new camera works with the original Solo DL. Don’t know anyone that has tested that, but worth a try. I’m sure he would take it back if it doesn’t. I know the new cam will get power and charge voltage, just not sure of the info from the logger configured by RS2 as opposed to RS3 configured loggers.

Thanks Peter.

Did the block charger idea, and it seems to be okay. I'll go ahead and order a camera from Matt and give that a go as well.

Thanks to both of you!
