Default Basic setup Aim MXL - best camera option

Have a new to me racecar, it has a Aim MXL dash, and GPS module, all the cables in place just no camera. Which is the best bet for plug and play/resolution that will still talk to the older dash?
Smartycam HD or GP?

thanks

Personally I prefer the GP, but we sell many more standard HD units (we have two in stock right now). Standard HD is simple - one camera, one mount, one cable. GP is a bit more complicated, two of everything so more expensive...BUT...you can put the recording module that holds the SIM card anywhere you want so you have easy/quick access to pull the card, and have the bullet cam put in places with limited access.
I use a GP for front facing, and regular HD for rear facing.

Either one will connect to the MXL just fine.

I say standard HD all day. I only put GP in open cars. The standard is less money, easier to mount, and doesn't have some other challenges of the GP.

Same image quality. If you need the SD card access away from the camera location, get the GP. Most closed cars can use the V2.1 all in one. All compatible with your MXL Pista and GPS.

It’s also what you can get right now. Would not wait for the V3
