Default See Spot run type instructions for AIM MXL?

Going to Lime Rock tomorrow and will be connecting to and hopefully downloading data from my setup tomorrow. Problem is I don't remember even the basics. Am I remembering correctly when I think that my previous cars could use WiFi to download data at the end of a session, but first I had to get one of the programs on my laptop to recognize the unit. My laptop is load with Smarty Cam 2, Race Studio 2, Race Studio 3, and Race Studio Analysis. Questions:
1) Do I have the programs I am likely to need?
2) Which program do I use for the initial setup and will I need a cord? (I'm assuming Speed Sport already programmed the parameters.)
3) I forget is all the data stored on the card in the Smarty Camera or do I need to download something in addition to the information stored on the SD card?
4) I looked but couldn't find a basic manual. Is there a manual for how to use my system or is it all videos?
Thanks!
P.S. For what it's worth here's the only picture I have of what's in my car plus I believe I bought and SST installed a Smarty Cam V2.2 GP??

You will need GPS Manager to manage maps on the MXL Pista, RS2 to configure and download (with a cable) data from the MXL Pista and RS3 for configuring the SmartyCam and maps.

No data on the camera card, although you can try importing a movie into RS3 Analysis. MXL Pista data is easily opened in RSA (within RS2).

I would add VLC player to play the videos and watch those first.

Jonathan won’t be there?

Thanks Peter as always!

Simon wants to spend the day with me as it's my first day back with the LRDC in two years, but I should be with Jonathan next week. If I remember correctly you sent a cable to SST. I'll stop by on my way tomorrow and make sure I have it. I do have VLC loaded as well.

Do the newer Dash versions download data over WiFi, and if so is it easy to swap out the Pista with a newer version, or does it get complicated?

I don’t remember back that far, Joe. You should confirm with them and ask to borrow theirs if not. Yes, the MXL2 is plug and play and a pretty easy swap. The quality of the data for your purposes is the same.

Thanks again Peter. I'm sure SST will have the cable I need. I bet they already put it in the car as I mentioned it to Bryan.

Just looked at the price of a new MXL2. Yikes. Guess I'll stick with what I have for the moment

Your Pista is fine and you, Simon or Jonathan will be able to do everything you need to go quicker!

I would suggest getting the bulkhead adapter instead of a 3.5mm mic cable if you haven't already bought the cable. The bulkhead uses the same USB cable that the camera has and all the new loggers use.

The Pista is still a good unit, but the additional capabilities of the new systems for alarms, predictive timing, and dash visualizations. Whenn you consider the better quality GPS and the power of integrated data and video in RS3, the upgrade is well worth the price IMHO. If you are interested at any point, let me know and I'm happy to help out. I even have dashes in stock
