A silly question - sometimes the read/write switch is really loose and can get bumped back inserting the card. It isn't write protected when you insert it, correct?
Also, you say new to you. It is used? Did it work for the previous owner?
checked that too but i think there is something internal going on.
I bought it from a rennlist member. He said it wasn’t used much. Since it can’t record I have a nice 5lb brick here

AiM is great about repairs. If you send it in, they will check it out and fix it for a really reasonable price. You just have to send it in and include your contact info.
