Default Where do AIM systems get their Time/Date?

I always assumed my EVO5+GDash+SCHD receives its time/date from the GPS.
Today (after a few weeks of non use and no power), the time/date reported was totally wrong as expected.
After power up and a few minutes the GPS reported 2m accuracy and 13 satellites locked. The time/date then updated to what seemed like the correct values.

However, when I compared the AIM time/date to UTC, GPS, etc. it does not seem to be accurate to any of them.
See screen shot below:

Can anyone explain this.

DB

Well, I repeated the experiment and this time the AIM system reported a running time within a fraction of a second of "GPS time".
Moreover, I recorded some SCHD video with a data/time field included in the template and it was within a fraction of a "second of local time."
I can work with that!

It should be GPS time set to your local time. They just (fairly recently) changed things to make this all work versus the old way of the user defining time.

Still have to set DST on/off on the SCHD, but love the time zones in the map info.

It is interesting that the time reported on the GS Dash in the utility menu is GPS time, while the time reported on the SCHD video is local time (derived from GPS time).
Someone definitely thought about this implementation.

Lots of thought went into it for the general architecture of the current and next gen products.
