AIM Solo DL real time oil temp display?
Wondering if anyone knows if Solo DL is capable of showing real time oil temperature on its display?
Application is 2011 Cayman S.
Thanks

987.2 and 987.1 cars below, yours should use the EDI Siemens ECU template:

You can make a couple of pages of larger, fewer numerals. Scroll by pressing the right button on-track.

As Peter and Matt have said, it's possible using a CAN connection. Here is a photo of a page I set up on my SoloDL for vital engine stats on my '09 Cayman S. This is the page that is displayed while I'm on track (I look at lap times once I'm back in the paddock). The numbers are plenty large enough to see while underway.
Cheers!

Fantastic info gentlemen and exactly what I wanted to hear!
Jazztrip, to be clear, I can customize a panel / screen to include the pieces of information that I want displayed while in car? For instance, if I want oil temp, oil pressure and laptimer displayed is this possible?
Thanks.

Yes, this is possible. Go to Menu, scroll down to Display (IIRC), then select Pages, then select the number of fields you want in each of up to four separate pages (in this case three), then under that page, scroll down and configure the fields by scrolling through the choices for each field. Then back out.
lap time on top, oil pressure and oil temp on the bottom. You can set the lap time “hold” or the time it’s displayed after you cross start/finish as well. I recommend 12-15 seconds.

With a 981 (GTS) you can display on your dash. No AIM necessary.
Pretty bad that real time oil temp is missing on 986, 987,996 and 997 cars IMO. Oil temp, pressure and tach are the 3 most important metrics in our cars, again IMO.

There are not internal communications within the earlier cars (986/996) and limited in the later cars, at least the ones that carry this information. Most modern cars don't even have oil pressure sensors, only a switch.
