Removing smartycam:
I have an MXL and smartycam. Selling the car but keeping the camera. I think the MXL gets its GPS from the smartycam. What do i connect the GPS to on the MXL in the absence of a camera.
I already have a brake pressure sensor. Do i need a bridge or something?

I’ve got an open box five pin GPS, if you need it.

Correct and same situation as Peter.
The brake pressure will still go to the Pista and then to the camera. No change there. No bridge needed.

Dan, I feel your frustration, but there's a good reason.
In the beginning, when GPS was introduced and became a substitute for the IR sensor and the beacon, it needed to be amplified and to translate that info to the logger. Hence 5-pins. Initially, it was a $400 upgrade for the MXL's. Then, a few years later, they reduced it $100 to $299. Now, it's always been included with all MXL2, MXS and MXG loggers, as well as the EVO4S and EVO5. MXL2 was the same price as the MXL Pista but had a $299 antenna included!
When the camera came out, it had an internal antenna that didn't work if it was shielded, but the guts were in the camera, so it only needed four pins. It was initially included with the later standard definition cameras and the GP, and you could buy one for first $199, then lowered to $149. Many customers of mine don't have a logger, just want to get video. When the new HD came out, it didn't have an antenna with it, but the camera cost the same. It could use the four-pin less expensive GPS antenna so many people to save money bought that to add GPS to their old MXL Pistas. I see this even today, with more than a few shops using a new generation dash with a smartycam and a smartycam GPS antenna (which is not optimal, IMO), even when the later dashes CAME with a five-pin antenna! Doesn't make sense.
