The 987.1 car is a great deal more limited in information, refresh rate to the 987.2.

OBDII is very limited (IMO) in the "early" cars due to the fact that this technology was relatively new (the kind of information that was useful for driver analysis present in the CANbus.

I have never recommended OBDII (although I've sold OBDII) connections to early cars.

While you can't get brake pressure with the current, proper and designed-for-this-specific-car protocol (configuration loaded onto the AiM Solo DL), the connection to the vehicle CANbus is the best way to get what is available.

As an explanation, the protocol is a specific set of electronic instructions sent to the hardware that tell it how to interpret what information it is collecting from the car. Incorrect protocols can trigger MIL codes, read no information or otherwise not work.AiM has the most complete list of protocols for vehicles 2004 and on.
