Hello everybody:
I would like to put in my 1992 964 3.3 Turbo one of this skid plate...right beneath the bumper (see pic).

I think the new GHL headers that run few weeks ago seems more exposed to bumps and dirt than original ones and think that short of 'engine protection' for rally and raid cars works well.
Do you know where to find it? or it isn't an 'standard' part and have to fabricate tailor-made?
thank you in advance, regards,

Fabrication is the usual practice except for very popular rally cars, like the Impreza. You may find a shop that sells a plate - but I think the plate in the pic was fabricated.
Start with 6061-T6 Aluminium plate if you're going to smack it regularly.
5052 is fine for anything else. It is a lot less expensive to fabricate, and, I think, lighter than, 6061-T6.
3/16" (4.8mm) thick in either case.
Sorry, I don't know the European equivalent alloy types, but 5052 can be bent with regular metal brakes, 6061 cannot.
I have 6061 in the Porsche for rallying, but I'm putting 5052 in the VW for street use.

Thanks Craig:
But, let me tell that temperatures from the headers are extremely high, Is 5052 (or 6061) alloys hard enough to manage those temps?
what do u think?
thanks a lot,
