Hi everyone! Dave here from TLC Auto Detail in Chantilly, VA. We recently had another amazing Porche in the shop for some extensive film and coating work. This particular 911 is a 50th Anniversary model wearing the unique Graphite Grey color.

The owner of this awesome vehicle approached us about adding the most protection possible to his vehicle as he plans to keep it forever. This vehicle already had some miles on it, and even had seen a cross country trip. We went over all of the options and settled on filling the rock chips, applying a custom Clear Guard Nano wrap to the entire vehicle, and then coating the film and wheels with Modesta coatings. This would give the vehicle the most protection possible and make maintenance a breeze for years.

We started with a full decontamination of the exterior to make sure that nothing was left on the surface to interfere with the adhesion of the paint protection film. We lifted the vehicle to allow us to remove the wheels. While the wheels were off of the vehicle we steam cleaned the wheel wells and calipers to remove all of the built up debris and dirt. We also deep cleaned the inner barrels and faces of the gorgeous matte black wheels. The full wheels and painted brake calipers were then coated with Modesta BC-06 High Temperature Glass Coating and cured before being reassembled.

The wheels wells had certainly seen better days.


They looked great after a thorough steam cleaning and dressing.


The calipers were also not looking amazing, but after being steam cleaned, polished, and coated with Modesta BC-06 High Temperature Glass Coating they looked better than new and dripped with gloss.






After the wheels and calipers were addressed we moved on to the film work. To give the best possible install we always remove trim and emblems. This allows us to lay full pieces of film under emblems as well as to wrap edges behind film and inside panels. Not only does this look better, but it leads to a longer lasting install since there are not exposed edges that can become built up with debris.

The mirrors were removed to allow full sheets to be laid on the doors.


The headlights and mark lights were also removed to allow the film to be wrapped behind them for a seamless installation.


The film is totally custom hand cut so it can be laid into the panel gaps giving total coverage and protection.


The taillights were also removed to give a totally seamless installation.


After the film was installed we applied Modesta BC-04 Nano Titanium Glass Coating to every inch for the best possible long term protection. This not only adds even more gloss to the film, but also provides amazing protection from chemical etchings, and gives the film incredible hydrophobic properties that will keep it looking great for years.

The final product looks stunning and will allow the owner of this vehicle to drive it all over the country knowing he has the best possible protection for his vehicle!
