Default TLC Auto Detail | 911 Clear Guard Nano PPF Wrap | Northern, VA

Hi everyone! We are TLC Auto Detail from Chantilly Virginia. We have been offering luxury automotive restoration and protection services to the Northern, VA and DC Metro Area for years. A lot of our clients have told us what a great resource this site is so we wanted to see what it was all about so we decided to become sponsors. We offer services from simple wash and waxes, to full paint corrections with Modesta paint coatings, and even custom paint protection film installations.

This 2016 Porsche 911 was brought to us for a custom paint protection film install since it would be seeing some serious track time. After discussing the options with the owner we decided to wrap the full front end, rockers, a pillars, and to add more protection to the quarter panels in front of the rear wheels. Being a white vehicle and wanting to get the most gloss possible we decided to use Prestige Clear Guard Nano SR Paint Protection Film. This film is over 8 mils thick, has the best gloss on the market, the least amount of texture in the adhesive that we’ve seen, and has a hydrophobic top layer to help keep the vehicle clean and make it easier to maintain.

As with all of our installs we started with a full decontamination detail to prep the surface for the installation. We always want to make sure there is nothing on the paint that could interfere with the installation of the film. After the decontamination we remove the emblems, marker lights, and headlights which allows us to wrap every edge and lay a full piece of film down, avoiding seams. A seamless installation not only looks better, but it also prevents dirt and debris from building up in an exposed edge which not only looks bad, but can also leading to peeling over time.

Every panel is custom wrapped and 100% hand cut for a perfect fit and finish, no pre-cut patterns here which leads to a better looking and longer lasting install.

The film is even wrapped into the seam of two body panels to give a totally invisible installation without having to unnecessarily remove pieces.

A full piece of film is laid while the emblem is removed so that once it is reinstalled you can’t even tell there is film there.
