Default How to remove scuffs from leather

Is there a way to remove black scuffmarks from leather or do I need to touch-up/dye these?
The first one is supposedly from the factory Boxter roll bar and the second are not creases, they are actual long black scuff marks.

I've already tried soap and water. I've already tried Lexol preservative.

Any other suggestions?

Contact Joanne at Colorplus in PA

She will make you some dye that will match perfectly.

My .02. You've got two issues. One is the superficial black smudge on top of the leather, and the other is the damage that goes below the leather's coating. Here's what I would do: wearing a nitrile glove, take a soft cotton or microfiber cloth, wrap the cloth over your index finger, spray a very small amount of WD40 on the tip of you finger and gently rub the black scuff, it should come off fairly easily and not hurt the underlying finish.

For the cuts that go below finish, yes, I would see about getting a matching dye to fill in those imperfections.

While some will disagree regarding the WD40, bear in mind you are not soaking the leather in it, you are just using a spare amount superficially on the leather's coating, however I would not use this procedure for suede of alcantara since they are absorbent. If you want to play it safe, try rubbing first on an out of sight area. After cleaning, use some Lexol to re-treat the surface.
