Default salt water damage on perforated leather seats

OK so I sat on the perforated leather seats of my 04 TT with a wet bathing suit, it was salt water. After drying , the affected areas are now hard and the surface is crinkled. I have tried using leather conditioner very liberally to soften the areas. It is barely working.

Is there anything I can do to soften the affected areas? I have been told that the crinkling can be remedied by a leather guy.

I am looking for any assitance, as i am sick over doing this. Yes my daughter asked if we should get in with wet suits and I replied, sure cows get wet all the time. They just dont swim in the ocean

Leatherique Prestine Clean and Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil. The Prestine will allow salts to float to the surface and the Rejuvenator will soften the leather. Rejuvenator first, then Prestine, then a final wipe down. Natural looking, no shine.

Good adice above. And park it in the sun when doing it. The heat will be your friend. You can even cover the leather with saran-wrap to enhance and accelerate the process.
