Default Armor All Wheel protectant side effect

We have talked about this fairly new product before, you spray it on the wheel after a cleaning and drying. It makes the wheel slick so brake dust comes off much easier at the next wash. Armor All and now Meguire's have it.

I use it on 3 of our 4 cars and have noticed that my wheel weights are coming off. This is more than a coincidence since it is happening on all 3 cars. I think the spray gets to the adhesive paper under the wheel weight and somehow loosens it up.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Interesting. How long have you been using it?

Used it all last year. Did over 16,000 miles in the toys, and 3 sets of wheels. No problems here. Luv it. Clean wheels, 2 coats of Rejex, top with AAWP.

I like the product too but I suspect the chemical get absorbed into the adhesive pad under the wheel weight and lossens it. I took the car back to my tire shop this afternoon and they re-balance the front wheels again.

I have been using the Armor All for about 8 months now.

Hopefully the barrels of your wheels are thoroughly cleaned (and preferably stripped of the old wax) prior to having new wheel weights stuck on.

I told my trusty tire shop about the product I use and they cleaned the wheel well before installing new wheel weights now. So far so good with wheel weights staying itact.
