How does this compare to the Porter Cable 7424XP?

I believe they are one in the same. I have been using this exact machine for the past 2 years now. Before that I had the previous version of the Griots RO which wasn't nearly as powerful.

The griots is light years ahead of the 7424XP, we have had the Griots machine in the shop for 7 months of abuse before we decided to bring it in.

It's our go to now for paint correction.

Its got more power than the 7424XP and everyone at the shop loves it over all the machines.
(the one that doesn't like the Griots or the PC loves his Flex 3401.)

Ensure great results with out the cons of using a rotary.

That's good to know Phil. I had made an assumption that Griots was the same as the XP because both were introduced around the same time. I haven't used the XP. The Griots version is powerful and it's come in handy for major paint correction work. It doesn't bog down at all even when using it with a cutting pad and a product like M105 which I find to be very aggressive.

"Griot's is the best RO in the industry"... I happen to agree. I've been using Griot's products for 10+ years and I'm still amazed after detailing a car for the first time. Phil, your before and after pics are amazing! You did that with M105 and a yellow pad? Order placed! Thanks for posting
