Sticky Buttons

I'm not sure if this deserves to be in Concours or not, but here goes... The previous owner or whoever apparently got something sticky on the console buttons. Everything is cleaned and looks perfect but the button operation is still a bit sticky. I was hoping it would work itself out after a while, but unfortunately not. Would a shot of WD-40 work for making the button operation normal again?

It's probably spilled soda or coffee. Don't spray a wd-40 type product. You need to spray a cleaner-type product like Autoglym Interior Cleaner or Sonax Upholstery Cleaner. This will dissolve whatever the dried and sticky substance is. Then you simply use a vacuum to pull the moisture out and wipe with mf towel.

Thanks Moe, will take a look at those as well. I've done the coffee spill thing in the car before, but I was lucky to only have dripped it down the passenger side of the console while not affecting any buttons.
