Default did the Porsche today...

decided to watch Pitt vs WVU on TV due to shopping madness/traffic
good thing, didn't have to suffer thru it in person...lol

polished with Klasse all in one
hand coat of Klasse sealent glaze

I'm not good with pics (it's me, not the camera, a Lumix DMCLX3)
but it looks good, great in fact for a 25 year old car
good match between the metal and bumper and door guards...

Now that is a sweet looking ride. Great job! What is the current mileage?

~61k miles
all maintenance is current
new rotors, pads, SS lines and flushed multiple times (clutch hydraulics too)
gearbox fluids
all new hoses (looms, etc., cleaned underhood up nicely)
all new factory clamps
fuel lines
plugs/wires/distributor cap
engine mounts are fine
clutch is ~50% according to Porsche manual measurements
cleaned all electrical connectors/grounds/terminals/etc.
powerwashed/degreased chassis, not a spec of rust anywhere
got all books/service records/tools/etc.

only mods:
wastegate shims, LBE and chips (I have the oem chips), 3 bar regulator
SS muffler, Dansk
new CD player/speakers (I have the originals)
floor mats, Lloyds
halogen headlight lamps
filter fabric over cabin air intakes
Audi oem battery, perfect fit and capacity
wheels, obviously, I have the oem phone dials w/tires, perfect condition

the dash is perfect, in fact the interior is perfect
had an alignment done by someone who knows what they are doing, tracks true
car drives like new and pulls hard

Great work. That's what detailing is about. Spending quality time in the garage and working on toys.

61k? ...... 20k miles I could believe. I am curious about the filter fabric over the cabin air intakes.... is this because there are no filters or is it just for additional cleaning? In any case you've done a fine detailing job. Love the avatar and the quote. Miles was way out there ...... I was so disappointed when he cancelled his concert in Toronto and then passed on before it was rescheduled. Happy motoring.

Great looking detail, looks a lot newer than its mileage. For many years (twenty plus) my polymer sealant of choice was Klasse (an acrylic polymer)

yep, no filters on the '86
but there is a clip on grill (x2), I cut some blue HVAC filter foam to fit, and clipped them in with the grilles....hardly any dust

I saw one of his last shows in Pittsburgh, he's the man
also saw a great exhibit in Montreal last summer

Brubeck is in NYC tonight at the Blue Note...I should be there

thanks

Really off topic but .... I have to say that I love Brubeck's music, too. I saw him a few years back at Massey Hall in Toronto with my dad. I heard Chic Corea's trio play there just a few weeks ago. That was simply awesome (w/ Christian McBride and Brain Blade) It left me speechless. I must visit the Blue Note one day. Enjoy!
