Default question about finder's fee for a car....

i didn't know exactly which forum to post this in, but since it relates to detailing, i thought i give it a shot here. i'm not a pro detailer, but do a fair business in my spare time.

i have a customer wanting to purchase a used maserati quattroporte and she's asked me to find her a car. she would like me to handle all the logistics...shipping, purchase price, etc.

my question is this: what would be a fair price to charge her? a percentage of the sales price? a flat fee?

thanks for any help you can give.

Usa a "formula" like this:

A) How much do you make per hour? (take your 2009 gross earnings/52 weeks/40 hours)
B) How long will the entire process take you to find this car for your customer?

A X B = your fee (above the cost to purchase, PPI, ship, tax and other)

That's a good plan. Or you can come up with a set price, get half now and half when deal is closed. If it's easy, then do a detail on the car as part of the deal. If it turns out to be a PITA, then you're covered too. Or you can simply agree on the % of the sale price. If you are a good negotiator, you can save her a lot of money and she'd be happy to compensate you accordingly. Good luck.
