Default Paint Restoration - 1967 Cadillac

I know this is a bit OT but I thought this question could also help other P-car owners with classic cars.

I have a '67 Cadillac with old oxidized paint. Does anyone have any tips for rejuvinating the paint?

TIA for any responses.

What equipment and supplies do you have now?

I have P21S supplies that I use on my P-car but they do not work on the caddy's paint. I have tried some type(can't remember the name) of rubbing compound on an inconspicuous area of the paint but it did not work very well. I do not have a buffer, I do all of my detailing by hand.

I recently saw in one of the big box stores a new product by Meguires for paint restoration. I was thinking of giving this a try.

On a car that size you are gonna hurt a lot before you make any progress without a Porter cable XP or Meguiars G110v2.

Agree, a PC really should be considered if you want to get decent results in a reasonable amount of time. If you really don't mind spending many weekends working on the car you can try Meguiars ColorX by hand.

Post some pictures if you have them.

Thanks!

That was my 928's first owners house in CA. I have a series of pictures taken of the car when he sold it to the second owner.

Ironic actually, my wife and I are considering making a move back to SoCal if everything comes together so the GT may be back in its original stomping grounds.
