Default Spilling Gas on Paint

Fuel overflowed filling up my 911 turbo....what are your thoughts re: the best way to make sure there is no fuel residue left on the paint?

Thanks...

Use a chemical paint cleaner (AIO) or a cleaner wax

I would spray some quick detailer and use one microfiber to remove the majority, spray again and use a second microfiber for removal of any remaining. Put another coat of wax on as TOGWT suggested since the gas will leave it unprotected.

Gasoline is basically a solvent, so it is going to eat away any surface protection that you have. It might be harmful if left for a long time, but in small amounts and for short periods of time it shouldn't have any adverse effects.

You need to make sure that it is rinsed completely, using something like a quick detailer would be good. After that replace whatever surface protection that you had before and you should be good to go.

I wouldn't make a habit of getting the gas on your paint, but it isn't anything to seriously worry about as long as you remedy it quickly.

+1...simply clean the surface with a detail spray and re-apply the wax you use.
