Default Finished Up My Concours Prep

So my wifes present to me for fathers day was the opportunity to spend some time in the garage without too much interruption.

I've owned the GT for about a year now and I've been slowly working on the exterior, interior, engine and undercarriage. This weekend was spent cleaning, claying and polishing the wheels. The last few weeks included polishing/waxing the paint and getting the leather cleaned up.

Products:

Exterior
Meguiars #83 DACP
Meguiars Maroon Cutting Pad
Meguiars #9
Meguiars Yellow Polishing Pad
Meguiars #9
Meguiars Black Finishing Pad
Pinnacle Souveran Wax x 3 Coats
Griots Vinyl Rubber - Tires, Trim
Griots Interior Cleaner - Carpets/Vinyl

Interior
Leathermasters Strong Cleaner
Swissvax Leather Brush
Leathermasters Vital Conditioner
Pinnacle Souveran - Wood
Griots Vinyl/Rubber - Vinyl/Plastic parts
Isopropyl / Distilled Water - Glass

Engine
Citrus Degreaser
Quick Detailer - Any brand
Microfibers
Lots of Elbow Grease!

Here are a few shots, not in any particular order.

That is a gorgeous color - I thought your car was grey looking at your avatar.

I bet it's fun trying to keep white leather in a 20+ year old car clean and fresh.

Nice detail - paint looks great!!

Thanks!

Color is a bimetallic so it changes color depending on light. Gotta love Porsche paint.

The leather isn't too bad to take care of but the carpets are a real pain. The PO had clear mats placed over the regular mats which helps a bunch but the door sills still get dirty.

gotta love the way the flakes on that paint pop! Very nice job!

This is NOT meant to be critical by any means, cuz you obviously know what you are doing...You might consider using a synthetic sealant before you put the souveran on, gives better protection and lasts a lot longer. Since you seem to like Meguiars products, as I do, check out the synthetic sealant 2.0...water rolls right off as do bugs and anything else. On a garage kept car, it will easily last 6 months.

Excellent work on your detail Marine Blue. It's always very rewarding when you complete a thorough detail like the one you just did. Congrats! Now to maintain it so it stays like that for quite some time.

Enjoy,

George

NICE! Love the paint. My 87 944S is the same color, but it is in serious need of some front respray (crazy amount of rock chips) and / or an overall polish.

Afshin,

Looks fantastic. I may have to take you up on your offer to coach me on a fine art of polishing. I'm going to need to get things in shape for Newport in September.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try to post some engine pics this weekend.

If there's anyone locally that wants to learn please let me know. If enough interest exists I can set up a detailing clinic either at my place or if someone has access to a large garage we can have it there.

I will need to figure out the logistics regarding the products etc since I don't have alot on hand at the moment.
