yup the 4inch pad with 3 inch backing plate would work well for the tight spots.

personally on my turbo I just keep it waxed.

i love the look of wax and since I'm on top of the care for the car no reason to really seal it. just preference

wax only.

Phil: Thanks - I can see your point. One last question if you don't mind... How tricky is it to use Menzerna Power Gloss Compound for the novice user with a PC? I don't have a paint gauge and I would probably start with just a couple of passes using the white pad and see if I have made the last of the scratches disappear and if that is requiring much more work then I would revert to an orange pad. Both pads are Lake Country products. Does that sound like a plan that would keep me out of trouble?

Goodness gracious great ***** of fire! That looks as though it has been used to plow the farmer's fields. (My buddy at work, (who loves Porsches by the way) calls them the German tractor of the automobile family.) No, Phil... Mine doesn't look one hundredth as bad as that. I'll see if I can borrow a camera and post some pictures. Thanks again. Glenn

Ok, If I may jump in here and ask a question, How many pads do you go through per car? 1?

I use 2-3 pads when I do a job and then I thoroughly wash them and let them dry before bagging them and putting them away for the next time when I will need them

I think I will sell my car but keep the hood for polishing. This way I will be able to afford to buy enough polishing pads at least to be able to keep one part of the car looking the way it should.
