when they are bare aluminum barrels....
Have a set of 3 piece Kinesis that I just had the tires torn off. Would like to clean the barrels up as they are coated in brake dust.
Wet fine grit sandpaper? A normal cleaning brush isnt going to do much...
Thanks,
Sam

•Use detailing clay to remove any imbedded contaminants
•Remove road tar with a solvent (Stoners™ Tarminator)
•Remove surface brake dust with a 100% acid-free and neutral pH wheel cleaner (P21S Wheel Cleaner) Agitate with a soft boar’s hair wheel brush and rinse with low-pressure clean water
• Use a cutting polish (Wenol Original - Red tube) use a fine metal polish (Auto Wenol Blue tube) to remove rain water spotting and produce a bright shine (follow Wenol Original with Auto Wenol) apply products with a 100% DFT cotton micro towel, or place a soft cotton buffing wheel on an electric drill

I've got aluminum Fikse's and this stuff rocks on them:

It's especially good on the rims once you've got them cleanup a little - MUCH easier than doing the finger polishing with the stuff from the tubes. I was very, very impressed with the results. It comes with a gritty sponge that you can wash out - you just wet the sponge and dab it into the soap and get it lathered up and it does it's thing.
For the super caked on stuff though that's probably in there - I like TOGWT's suggestions. The P21 stuff just rocks - I use a bunch of it.
