Ok, I know I still owe pics, but here is an update. I was at a car part store yesterday and saw a metallic looking pouch with a product claiming to restore headlights. I was skeptical to say the least, but intrigued. I figured that for $20.00 and a money back guarantee I had nothing to lose but time.
This morning I opened the pouch which contains a glove, 4 pieces of sand paper and 6 little pouches with polish in one and a liquid polymer in the other. Fast forward to 30 minutes later, my headlights look brand new.
It is called CV Headlight Restorer/Defogger (No affiliation) and it performs as promised. The one thing to be careful is that when applying the last step, you must go in one direction only!
There is a website, but some reason I cannot open it. www.myheadlight.com
Take care
